In the summer of 2017, Thea Reifler and Philipp Bergmann travelled to the heart of Donald Trump's America, which is undergoing radical change. As siblings Finn & Linn, they crept into life along Route 1 USA, which leads from Miami to the Canadian border. This once busiest road in the world was considered a lifeline of the USA. But that is a thing of the past. And the past, so the impression of the two travellers, is today for many the better future. This experience became the starting point of THESE DAYS' performance.
THESE DAYS shows no pictures of the journey, no motels and trailers, but a space that denies the passage of time. 99 Videotapes, three walls, a plastic surface, a table, a video recorder, a bed, a plant, an aluminum box, body and voice of performer Malte Scholz - they contain their own continuous recording. The past can always be replayed. To infinity. The future, on the other hand, can only be imagined in a parallel life. On the other side of the screen.
